Sheringham MarketsSheringham runs a market in the main Car Park on Wednesdays and Saturdays all year round. The market offers a wide range of stalls and is located next to the station for the North Norfolk Railway. January February March April 7th April - 5th May : Art Exhibition at the Little TheatreStudents from Paston College will be exhibiting paintings, sculpture, photographs and textiles. There will also be work from students at Sheringham High School who have been working on a theme that involves studying their environment, resulting in paintings, watercolours and mixed media works. Open to all 12th April : Songs from the ShowsThis locally-based trio have delighted audiences across East Anglia, and are very pleased to return to Sheringham Little Theatre to bring you an eclectic mix of songs from many of your favourite West End and Broadway shows, past and present. The show starts at 7.30pm and ticket cost £9.50. Please contact the Sheringham Little Theatre for booking information. 19th April : Dance for LifeThe British Red Cross is dedicated to bringing schools, youth groups and dance groups throughout its local communities together in a celebration of youth dance and aims to make dance accessible to all young people aged 7-17 regardless of their ability. Young performers can enjoy dancing their socks off whilst raising money for the largest humanitarian organisation in the world. Tickets cost £6.00 (£4.00 for students) and Under 16s Free. May 6th - 31st May : Norfolk Contrasting ViewsGill Baguley - This exhibition has allowed the artist to undertake two separate journeys that are linked with one idea. Alongside representational paintings of well loved views of the local environment are images inspired by concerns about the changes caused by erosion, population explosion and pollution. It is a journey of dreams and of imagination, a nostalgic record and a fantasy of the creative spirit. The exhibition takes place at the Little Theatre, open to all.
24th May : Flamenco at the Little TheatreThe fiercest expression of the human spirit ever devised. The Flamenco Express policy is simply to obtain the best flamenco performers available, give them total artistic freedom and present them to international audiences. The result is an amazing diversity of artistic voices all committed to delivering their own view of the world, in their own unique way, according to how they feel at the time, with the music their ancestors have forged over hundreds of years - flamenco. Which means that every show is special. June 2nd June - 5th July : A Personal ViewPaul Damen - A retired teacher of photography, now undertakes commercial commissions and produce personal work largely based on landscape themes. He enjoy investigating intimate details as well as creating a personal response to the environment. His work employs digital, conventional darkroom, and sun printing techniques. The exhibition takes place at the Little Theatre.
21st June : The Secret GardenThis afternoon starts at 2.30pm and will let children take part in the story of The Secret Garden. This magical story of hidden places, personal secrets, revelation and transformation is one of the finest children's stories ever written. During the light hearted half hour rehearsal some children are chosen and rehearsed into their parts while the rest of the audience is taught four chorus songs. With the children costumed in the interval the show, lasting one hour, runs seamlessly with everyone taking part as rehearsed. July
2nd July : Twelfth NightGirl dresses up as a boy, meets boy and falls in love with him. Boy sends girl-dressed-as-a-boy to woo the girl he fancies. Girl falls in love with girl-dressed-as-a-boy. Confused? You will be when girl-dressed-as-a-boy’s twin brother shows up. Oh yes and in this production, all male parts are taken by women and female parts by men.
20th July : Family Summer Party with the Lee Vasey Big Band and the Vintage Hot Orchestra at Mannington HallLord and Lady Walpole, in association with Sheringham Little Theatre Society, presents
The Little Theatre Summer Party in the beautiful grounds of Mannington Hall. August 2nd August to 10th August: Sheringham Carnival WeekThere will be a full week of events for Sheringham Carnival. The Parade will take place on Wednesday 6th August where you will be able to see the Carnival Queen and her escorts. There will also be a Illuminated procession and Fireworks on Sunday 10th August. 3rd - 7th August : Summer Musical Theatre Course at Wolterton HallOnce again PDM Entertainments present a 5-day intensive course for 8-18 year olds covering the three disciplines of musical theatre: Acting, Singing and Dancing. This daily course culminates in a workshop production. The courses run from 10.00 - 16.00. Please call 01787 370406 for further details. September 1st Sept - 4th Oct : Norfolk Coast Light & LifeKaren Rowlands - Oil paintings of the Norfolk Coast; the landscape, the people and the wildlife. Detailed paintings of a variety of subjects each painted with a fascination for the play of light, enjoyment of the richness and vitality of colour in enhancing the atmosphere and a desire to bring each subject to life. The exhibition takes place at the Little Theatre, open to all. 20th September : Keith Skipper and the Press GangCelebrating 40 years of Break, and now Keith Skipper and the Press Gang, on the last lap of a 25-year adventure, are delighted to lend more support in the charity's home town.
